The company was founded in 2010 by Saar Yogev and Naomi Levari out of their love for the art of filmmaking after years of proven experience in the film & TV industry.
 

With titles premiering in Cannes, Berlinale, Venice, Toronto, Series Mania, among others, winning numerous awards and handling ambitious co-productions, Black Sheep was quickly granted international recognition as a visionary and groundbreaking production company.

The company specializes in character-driven feature films, creative documentaries, and drama series - productions that direct a spotlight on the unheard and unseen on screen, or in other words, to black sheep.
Black Sheep works in close collaboration with its hand-picked creators and production partners, forming long term relationships while delving to every aspect of the making. 

Most importantly, Black Sheep believes that the journey should be joyful.

In 2018 Electric Sheep GmbH was founded in Berlin, a sister to Black Sheep of Tel Aviv. 
VICTIM, the company's first cinematic release premiered in Venice 2022 and is Slovakia's entry to the Oscars.

Saar is a graduate of Tel Aviv University’s Department of Film & TV (BFA) 1998 and 2013 EAVE alumni, winning a scholarship for excellence. Starting as a Line Producer and a Unit Production Manager in large-scale co-productions, Saar quickly gained recognition as a talented independent producer and was appointed Head Producer at JCS for two years before returning to produce independently. Between 2005-2007, Saar was invited to produce the Jerusalem Film Festival, after which he was asked to return to JCS, this time as Head of Productions, and was responsible for numerous TV productions. In 2010 Saar co-founded Black Sheep Film Productions, which quickly gained recognition for its quality projects.

In addition, Saar acted as head of the Entrepreneurial Producers program at the Sam Spiegel Film & TV School between 2010-2015.

Saar is a guest consultant at Berlinale Coproduction Market, Connecting Cottbus and First Cut Lab.

Naomi graduated summa cum laude from the Sam Spiegel Film & TV School as a director. Her diploma film DRAFT gained substantial international success. Naomi worked as a director and content editor until the passion for storytelling and the urge to explore new terrains prompted Naomi to become an entrepreneur-producer. It led her to co-found Black Sheep Film Productions Ltd. Winning numerous awards and handling ambitious co-productions granted Naomi international recognition as a "Producer to Follow" by CNC, by HFM and by Israel Film Fund. 

Naomi is known for her customized approach and engagement in every aspect of film making, establishing herself as a sought-after mentor and lecturer working with Canal+ Poland, Berlinale Script Station, EWA, First Cut Lab, Netflix Turkey, TFL, Full Circle Lab, Berlinale Co-Production Market and others.

Guy Hodes
Head of Productions

Guy is a graduate with honors from the Open University with a BA in Humanistic Studies and Film Studies and a graduate of Sam Spiegel Film & TV school's entrepreneurial producing track. His short film "With Slight Steps," which he directed and produced, was short-listed by BAFTA and has won numerous awards, including an Award for Best Film of the Israeli documentary forum.

Parallel to his studies, Guy worked at LEV, one of Israel's leading distribution companies gaining experience in marketing and distribution coordinating. In 2017, Guy was selected to be a jury member at the San Sebastian Film Festival in the Student Competition.

After graduating, intending to go through "all the steps," Guy worked as a freelancer in different production fields, reaching positions of Post Production supervisor of feature films and production manager of documentary films.

In 2020, Guy joined Black Sheep Film Productions.
