BORDER OF PAIN

DOCUMENTARY | ISRAEL | 2018 | 50 MINUTES

A film by Ruth Walk

In the absence of medical resources in the Palestinian Authority, patients in need of complex treatments find themselves in a bureaucratic system of security clearance before they are allowed to pass the checkpoint an get treatment at an Israeli hospital.

Ruth's documentary depicts the process that Palestinian patients go through, traces the people who root for them and reveals the inseparable interdependence between Israel and the Palestinian Authority - a complex system of ties, interests and laws, which sometimes saves lives and sometimes deprives them.
