A significant achievement for Israeli cinema:
Fig tree, Aalam-Warqe Davidian debut feature film wins the prestigious Audentia Award at the Toronto International Film Festival for the best woman-directed film.
The prize was given by the European Fund EURIMAGE and the Toronto International Film Festival and awarded to the best woman-directed film at the Toronto 2018 Festival, where the film had its world premiere at the prestigious Discovery section. The Toronto Film Festival is considered the largest film festival in the world and one of the most important film festivals. Fig Tree beat 12 other competitors from all over the world who competed in the final stage of the competition, including films from Canada, Denmark, Italy, Germany, France and more.
